1 Public telephone service providers shall gather and keep updated their customers’ directory data. The following rules are applicable:
a. public telephone service providers are not obliged to check data accuracy;
b. they must guarantee that the data conform to the information provided by their customers;
c. they may refuse to enter, in the directory data, information which is obviously incorrect or serves illegal purposes; such information may be eliminated from the directory data.
2 They shall allow service providers relying on directory data to access the minimum contents of the directory data concerning their customers and to obtain these data in electronic form.
3 They shall ensure that such access is transparent, non-discriminatory and priced to reflect the costs incurred making the data available. They shall follow the international technical standards. Articles 11a and 11b shall apply accordingly to dispute settlement.
4 Service providers who rely on the data included in the directories shall maintain the integrity of such data and only alter them with the consent of the public telephone service provider responsible for gathering the data. They shall update or erase the data in line with the amendments notified by the public telephone service providers. The Federal Council may issue directory data processing requirements.
5 The public telephone service providers may involve third parties in the fulfilment of their obligations.
6 The Federal Council may extend the provisions of this Article to other widely available public-access telecommunications services.
